Skating Club of the Adirondacks

The new session for skating lessons will begin the weekend of Sept. 12-13 at the Plattsburgh State Field House. There is a choice of Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon lessons (or both at a discounted rate).

Saturday lessons will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. for Basic Skills 4-8 and from 9:45-10:30 a.m. for Snowplow Sam (beginners) through Basic 3. The Sunday lessons are at 3:45-4:30 p.m. for Snowplow-Basic 3 and from 4:15-5:15 p.m. for Basic 4-8.

The club also offers freestyle group lessons and adult learn-to-skate at 5 p.m.

Sunday Youth Baseball

Youths in grades 3-5 are invited to take part in Sunday baseball, from 3-5 p.m., at Laphams Mills Park. It will involve light instruction and game play.

YMCA Soccer

The Plattsburgh YMCA is offering a soccer league for boys & girls ages 3½-7. The program is divided into two divisions: Kickers (3½-5) and Dribblers (6-7).

The instructional league is designed to be a fun, family activity, while learning how to play soccer. You may register at the YMCA any time from now until Sept. 14. The program will begin on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009.

Children from all area communities are welcome to participate.

The practice/games will run for 60-90 minutes on Saturday mornings only. Games/practices are held at the Bailey Ave. fields. All children will receive a t-shirt uniform and trophy. Volunteer coaches are needed.
