Athletic Camp

The Wellness Center at PARC will host a four-day athletic camp Feb. 15-18 for ages 14-18. The program is designed to educate and apply basic to advanced training techniques in order to enhance athletic performance in sports.

These training techniques have also been shown to decrease the chances of injury. Skills learned will be general in nature and can be applied to a variety of different sport specific situations. The skills include: linear acceleration, lateral acceleration, deceleration, reaction, speed, power, cutting techniques, coordination, mobility, and strength.

Proper strength training form will be taught as well. The instructor will assess movement patterns on the first day of the program in order to determine each athlete's initial skill level. Each athlete's movement patterns will be visually assessed in an ongoing effort throughout the program.

For more information, contact Ted Santaniello, at 324-2024, or visit the Wellness Center at 295 New York Road to pick up a registration packet. Registration ends Feb. 8.
