YMCA Indoor Soccer

The Plattsburgh YMCA is offering a junior indoor soccer league for boys and girls ages 4 to 7 at he YMCA gym. The program is divided into two divisions: kickers, ages 4 to 5; and dribblers, ages 6 to 7. The program runs from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. once a week for the kickers (Tuesday or Thursday, or Friday if needed) and dribblers (Monday or Wednesday, or Friday if needed). This instructional league is designed to be a fun family activity, while learning how to play soccer. Registration can be done at the downtown YMCA at 17 Oak Street. Children from all area communities are welcome. The practice/games will run for one hour for eight weeks, beginning the week of Feb. 11. Children will receive a t-shirt uniform and a trophy. YMCA Basketball 2012-2013

The Plattsburgh YMCA Youth Basketball Program has begun registration, which will last until Dec. 6. This is an eight-week program for boys and girls in grades 1st and 2nd (older kindergartners may also play). The program starts the week of Dec. 10. Practices and scrimmages are held early evenings and/or Saturdays. There is a total of two practices/scrimmages per week. Open to all communities. All participants receive their own YMCA basketball, T-shirt and award. Lower baskets are used for this instructional, fun program. Volunteer coaches are needed. YMCA Baseball 2012

The Plattsburgh YMCA has begun registration for its t-ball league (boys & girls ages 3.5-5) and coach-pitch leagues (ages 6-7). This instructional league starts May 12 at the Blumette Park on Sandra Ave. in Plattsburgh. Click title for more info.

Children from all area communities are welcome to participate. The practice/games will run for 60-90 minutes on Saturday mornings for eight weeks. The 3.5-5 year-olds go from 9-10:15 a.m. and the 6-7 year-olds go from 10:30 a.m.-noon. All children will receive a t-shirt, hat and trophy.

YMCA Basketball 2010-2011

The YMCA is accepting registrations for this season's basketball. There are 2 divisions--the 1st and 2nd graders are grouped together and the 3rd and 4th graders are grouped together. Practice start times will be between 4:00 & 5:00 PM during the week and or Sat. morning. The session will run from 12/13/2010 to 02/05/2011.

Teen Discovery Camp 2010

The YMCA will offer a summer teen (ages 13-18) camp on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

The camp will consist of teens discovering the outdoors, which would include beach, hiking, nature/science activities and other events. They will also be working with the community doing community service projects such as visiting nursing homes, animal shelters and working with other YMCA camps.

Youth Floor Hockey

The Plattsburgh YMCA will continue registration for its youth floor hockey league for boys and girls in grades K-4 until March 4, 2010. The instructional program has practices/games in the YMCA gym Saturdays for eight weeks with an emphasis on fun, safety and fundamental skills.

Each child will receive a t-shirt, uniform and trophy. The program includes an end-of-the-season swim and pizza party at the YMCA. A mouthguard is required of all participants.

Registration forms can be picked up at the YMCA, 17 Oak St., or downloaded at www.PlattsburghYMCA.com. Parent volunteers are still needed for this program.

YMCA Sign-ups Summer Camp

The Plattsburgh YMCA will begin registration for summer day camp programs on March 2 for YMCA members and will be available at the YMCA (located on the corner of Oak & Brinkerhoff Streets) and on line at www.plattsburghymca.com.

The YMCA offers Camp Jericho for boys & girls ages 5-13, Junior Camp K-2 for boys & girls in grades K-2 and Y's Kids Camp for boys & girls ages 3-5. The practice/games will run for one hour for 8 weeks beginning the week of Feb. 9, 2009. Children will receive a t-shirt uniform and an award. The cost is $28 for YMCA members and $52 for all others. Deadline is Feb. 4, 2009.
