Munchkin Indoor Soccer 2014
COED MUNCHKIN SOCCER LEAGUE - Indoor Session II 2014
Dates: starting January 28TH for 7 weeks
Times: Tuesdays 5:15pm - 6:00pm
Ages: 3 - 6 years old
Location: Crete Civic Center Soccer Turf Field
Fee: City Resident $20 (living within the City of Plattsburgh)

Flag Football 2014
12-14 YEAR OLD COED FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Each team will play 8 games with games scheduled for Monday evenings (7-9PM) starting February 3, 2014 with playoffs at the end of the season. Season will run until the middle of April.
Two games will be "sandlot" style where teams, with appropriate supervision, will play without coaches or referees.
-This is a 6 on 6 league with two 20-minute halves. A maximum of 11 players will be placed on each team. Football and flags will be provided.

Youth Bowling 2014
All school-aged youth are welcomed to bowl 3 games every Sunday morning at 8:30 AM at the North Bowl Lanes. Shoes are provided. The program will begin January 5 and end February 23. Cost is $10 per participant for the program. Pre-registration is mandatory.

YMCA Indoor Soccer
The Plattsburgh YMCA is offering a junior indoor soccer league for boys and girls ages 4 to 7 at he YMCA gym. The program is divided into two divisions: kickers, ages 4 to 5; and dribblers, ages 6 to 7.
The program runs from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. once a week for the kickers (Tuesday or Thursday, or Friday if needed) and dribblers (Monday or Wednesday, or Friday if needed). This instructional league is designed to be a fun family activity, while learning how to play soccer.
Registration can be done at the downtown YMCA at 17 Oak Street. Children from all area communities are welcome. The practice/games will run for one hour for eight weeks, beginning the week of Feb. 11. Children will receive a t-shirt uniform and a trophy. Volunteer coaches are also needed.

Practices and scrimmages are held early evenings and/or Saturdays. There is a total of two practices/scrimmages per week.
Open to all communities. All participants receive their own YMCA basketball, T-shirt and award. Lower baskets are used for this instructional, fun program. Volunteer coaches are needed.

Registration will be at 3 PM and the run will start at 3:15 PM.

City Recreation Department to offer Indoor Youth Flag Football
The City of Plattsburgh Recreation Department will offer an Indoor Youth Flag Football League at the Crete Memorial Civic Center starting on January 23. The league will be split into two divisions and offered to 9 to 11 year olds and 12 to 14 year olds.
The league will run on Monday afternoons/evenings for eight games, followed by a playoff game for the top two teams in each division. Registration is $44 for a city resident and $49 for a non-city resident and can be done online at http://www.plattsburghrecreation.com/. Only individual registrations will be accepted and teams will be formed by draft after the first day. The league will only support a maximum of 44 individuals per division.
"This is the first time we've been able to offer something like this," said Superintendent of Recreation Steve Peters. "We have been frequently asked for additional indoor sports for our area youth, and we are proud to offer flag football at the Crete Civic Center."
Two of the eight games will be "sandlot style" where teams, under appropriate supervision, will play without coaches and referees.
"Many adults remember a time where we could go out in the neighborhood and play sports on our own. The end zone would be from the neighbor's tree to someone else's mailbox and we would referee our own games and adapt our own rules. That type of play reinforces many interpersonal skill sets like sportsmanship, cooperation, negotiation, honesty and integrity. It's crucial for our kids to develop the same skills that we have, but unfortunately it doesn't happen as much as it used to. Recreational sports, and youth sports in particular, aid in the development of these lifelong skills and is hoped that we can rekindle some of those skills with our ‘sandlot-style' games."

Keeseville Ski Program 2012
The Keeseville Youth Commission is accepting applications for the 2012 ski program. The forms are available at the Town of AuSable Town Hall, North Country Club Restaurant or at the main office at AuSable Valley Central School and Keeseville Elementary School. The deadline is drawing near so please turn in information to the North Country Club Restaurant or contact Tonia Finnegan at 834-7363 for more information.

Saranac Basketball 2011-2012
The Town of Saranac will be holding registration for basketball (grades 1st through 6th) at the Town Hall from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 21 and 23.
A Youth Commission Meeting will be held prior to Mondays' sign-ups, starting at 6 p.m. Coaches are needed for the sixth grade girls and the first and second graders.

Peru Basketball 2011-2012
The Peru Youth Basketball Program will start this Saturday, Nov. 19, for the clinic portion of the program. All 3rd and 4th grade boys and girls will report at 9 a.m. for the two-hour clinic and the 5th and 6th grade boys only will report at 11 a.m. on the same day at the intermediate gym.
Walk-in registration is allowed and pamphlets are currently being handed out in school to students. For additional information, contact John Clemons at jclemons@perucsd.org or at 420-8528.

Peru Ski Club 2011-2012
The Peru Ski Club will be holding its final registration date on Dec. 1 at Town Hall from 6-7 p.m. The Ski Club is open to Peru Central School district students ages 7-18.
Cost for the entire program is $120 for six select Sundays. Cost includes six lift tickets and a two hour group lesson each week.

$85 nonmembers/$75 members. This fee includes clay, glazes, and firings. Older siblings can take this class as well.
Students will sculpt Safari Animals and then create a diorama depicting the environment of their clay animals. All Projects will be colored with glaze. The last of the 5 sessions will include a chance to try the wheel!

YMCA Basketball 2010-2011
The YMCA is accepting registrations for this season's basketball. There are 2 divisions--the 1st and 2nd graders are grouped together and the 3rd and 4th graders are grouped together. Practice start times will be between 4:00 & 5:00 PM during the week and or Sat. morning. The session will run from 12/13/2010 to 02/05/2011.
