Munchkin Soccer and Small Fry Sports
The City of Plattsburgh Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for its Fall Munchkin Soccer and Small Fry Sports & Games classes. Children must be 3-5 years old to participate (must have been born between 11/12/02 and 9/30/05).
Munchkin Soccer will show children basic soccer skills through the use of drills and games. Small Fry Sports & Games allows children to learn basic fundamental skills in soccer, basketball and other games with an emphasis on promoting new friendships.
Small Fry Sports & Games will have two separate classes per week. Parents can choose either Tuesdays from 4:00-4:50pm or Wednesdays from 5-5:50pm. Each class will run for 6 consecutive weeks. Tuesday classes will begin on September 30th and Wednesday classes will begin on October 1st.

The fall skating session will begin Oct. 4-5 at the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse. Basic Skills lessons will be offered for Snowplow through Basic 8 levels, with a choice of a Saturday or Sunday session. The Saturday lesson schedule is as follows:

The North Country Skating Club (NCSC) will hold open registration on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008 and Tuesday Oct. 7, from 5:30--7:30 p.m., at the Rouses Point Recreation Center. NCSC offers group instruction for basic and freestyle levels Monday and Friday nights. Advanced skaters do not have group instruction.
The season will begin on Monday, Oct. 13 and continue through Monday, March 16. Registration fees are $190 for basic skills and $195 for freestyle and advanced. Payment plans are available; however, a $50 down payment is required at registration.
Saturday evening ice is available for an additional fee of $85 for the season. Private lessons are also available, but arrangements and fees are the responsibility of the skater and instructor.

Chazy Youth Hockey
Chazy Youth Hockey will hold registration sessions on Sept. 13 2008 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., at the Chazy Rec Park during the soccer tournament and on Sept. 22 and Oct. 14, from 6--8 p.m. at the Scotts' Memorial Rink. We will be accepting skaters for the IP/Learn to skate program, Mite through Midget levels for boys and U12 & U14 Girls teams.Everyone should register online with USA Hockey. Plattsburgh Fall Soccer
The City of Plattsburgh's Fall Youth Soccer Program will run from Sept. 8 until Oct. 13, meeting Mondays and Wednesdays, from 5:15-6:15 p.m., on the Oval. The City Recreation Department will accept registration at its office, 52 U.S. Oval, until 4 p.m., Aug. 21. The fee is $44 for city residents, $49 for non-city residents with proof of residency required. The age divisions are:
U-6 -- must have been born between Aug. 1, 2002 -- July 31, 2003
U-8 -- must have been born between Aug. 1, 2000 -- July 31, 2002

Free Tennis Clinic
Saturday, August 16 from 10:30 to noon at Plattsburgh High School. Being held by Dr. Bonnabesse for children ages 4 to 10. The schedule is as follows: 4 and 5-year-olds meet from 10:30 to 11:00; 6 to 8-year-olds from 11:00 to 11:30; and 8 to 10-year-olds from 11:30 to noon. All equipment provided and four mini age-appropriate tennis courts will be set up. Court also open for younger kids and teens to play 10 AM to 2 PM. Group size limited. Preregistration required.
