Big Blue Hoop Camp

The annual Peru Indians Big Blue Hoop Camp, for boys and girls entering grades 1-9 in the fall, will be held July 6-10 on the Peru Central School Campus. The all-day camp will runs from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6-9 and from 9 a.m.-noon on Friday for players going into grades 3-9.
Mini-campers, or players entering grades 1-2, will meet from 9 a.m.-noon all week.

The cost of the camp is $110 for full-day campers (grades 3-9) and $55 for mini-campers. The cost includes a customized Rock basketball, customized Peru basketball t-shirt, a player evaluation, off-season workout and great instruction from a vast background of basketball minds.

A player can get the instruction, perks and highlights of a travel camp without the travel. The Camp Director is Matt Berry, Head Coach of the Peru Indians Boys Varsity Basketball team.

Soccer Camp on the Oval

The Lake Placid Soccer Centre & Soccer United Premier Club will sponsor a girls and boys camp July 27-31, 2009 from 9 a.m. to noon, on the Plattsburgh Oval. The 3-hour session will be for ages (7-17) at a cost of $125.

Kids Cook it Up--Plattsburgh Town

Attention all budding chefs! Team up with the Clinton County Health Department’s Eat Well Play Hard program and our own staff for a week long cooking extravaganza. Discover some kitchen skills while creating some tasty treats. You will
find that healthy, wholesome food can be yummy and easy to prepare. At the end of this class, you will leave with new culinary talents, as well as an apron and the Kids’ Favorites Made Healthy Cookbook. Bon Appetite!!

Environmental Education Summer Camp

Teenagers and parents interested in learning about spending a week at one of four summer camps operated by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) are invited to the DEC Summer Environmental Education Camp Open House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at the Adirondack Park Agency Visitor Interpretive Center (VIC) in Paul Smiths. The DEC has provided a residential summer camp program in conservation education for young New Yorkers for more than 60 years, a press release said. Three camps — Camp Colby, Camp Rushford and Camp DeBruce — are open to children ages 12 to 14 for eight weeks this summer, from June 28 to Aug. 22.

DEC Camps staff will be at the Paul Smiths VIC on May 9 to discuss enrollment, scholarships and summer camp employment at the four Summer Environmental Education Summer Camps, and past camp staff member Jim Bueche will be on hand to answer questions about camp activities.

The cost of attending the one-week residential session is $325 and includes meals.

Plattsburgh Soccer Camps are designed for girls and boys of all abilities. Each camp boasts a high coach to camper ratio for individual attention and development. All options have an emphasis on skill development through fun games and soccer related activities. Campers are assigned to small groups based on age and ability. All campers receive a soccer ball and camp t-shirt. Plattsburgh Soccer Camps have limited space and are filled on a first come - first serve registration method. Application and payment must be mailed together to ensure registration.

Girls Hoop Camp

The Cardinal Hoop Camp for girls ages 9-16 will be held July 6-10 on the Plattsburgh State campus. The camp will run Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Jump Camp--Beekmantown

The Ninth-Annual Beekmantown Booster Club Jump Camp will be held June 22-Aug. 13 at Beekmantown High School for athletes entering grades 7-12 for the 2009/2010 school year.


Jump Camp is an affordable 8-week speed and conditioning program designed to prepare athletes for school sports. Workouts are performed on Mondays and Thursdays and typically last an hour and a half. Morning and evening sessions are available. Out of district athletes and college athletes are welcome.

Applications are available online at the Beekmantown Central School District website www.bcsdk12.org under Athletics. The deadline for campers who need to order jump soles is June 8. Campers who already have jump soles or choose not to use them are asked to register by June 17.

Basketball Camps--Saranac

Basketball camps return to Saranac

Boys' and girls' FUNdaMENTAL Basketball Camps will be returning to Saranac this summer, 2009. The boys' camps will run from June 29-July 3 and July 13-17. The girls' camps will run from July 6-10 and July 20-24. Camps are open for students entering grades 4-12. (Click on title for more info.)


Costs will remain the same: new campers -- $120 for one week and $220 for two weeks. The cost for returning campers is $100 for one week and $200 for two weeks.
