Youth Bowling 2014
All school-aged youth are welcomed to bowl 3 games every Sunday morning at 8:30 AM at the North Bowl Lanes. Shoes are provided. The program will begin January 5 and end February 23. Cost is $10 per participant for the program. Pre-registration is mandatory.

City Fall Outdoor Soccer
City Fall Youth Outdoor Soccer Registrations
Registrations are now open for the City of Plattsburgh Fall Outdoor Youth Soccer Leagues. The leagues will run on Wednesdays from September 11th - October 23rd from 5:15-6:15pm on the City Oval.
Age range is:
U-8: 6-8 year-olds, U-10: 8-10 year-olds, U-12: 10-12 year olds.
Shirts will be provided by the City... please note size for us to order on the form
To register, log onto: www.plattsburghrecreation.com. Deadline to register is September 4th. Fee is $20.00 for City residents and $30.00 for non-city residents. If you are interested in coaching your child's team, please call Justyn at 518-726-6922 (the entry fee will be waived for coaching a team).

Free Golf Lessons
The family of Bob Smith will sponsor free golf lessons for children ages 10-16 at The Barracks Golf Course. Space is limited to the first 12 to sign up at the pro shop. The clinics will be held the last two weeks in July.

YMCA Indoor Soccer
The Plattsburgh YMCA is offering a junior indoor soccer league for boys and girls ages 4 to 7 at he YMCA gym. The program is divided into two divisions: kickers, ages 4 to 5; and dribblers, ages 6 to 7.
The program runs from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. once a week for the kickers (Tuesday or Thursday, or Friday if needed) and dribblers (Monday or Wednesday, or Friday if needed). This instructional league is designed to be a fun family activity, while learning how to play soccer.
Registration can be done at the downtown YMCA at 17 Oak Street. Children from all area communities are welcome. The practice/games will run for one hour for eight weeks, beginning the week of Feb. 11. Children will receive a t-shirt uniform and a trophy. Volunteer coaches are also needed.

YMCA Basketball 2012-2013
The Plattsburgh YMCA Youth Basketball Program has begun registration, which will last until Dec. 6.
This is an eight-week program for boys and girls in grades 1st and 2nd (older kindergartners may also play). The program starts the week of Dec. 10.
Practices and scrimmages are held early evenings and/or Saturdays. There is a total of two practices/scrimmages per week.
Open to all communities. All participants receive their own YMCA basketball, T-shirt and award. Lower baskets are used for this instructional, fun program. Volunteer coaches are needed.

City Basketball 2012-2013
The City of Plattsburgh Recreation Department has announced registration for the 2013 Youth Basketball Program. The program is open to all city youth in grades 3-6.
To register please log onto www.plattsburghrecreation.com.
Teams will participate in the Clinton County Youth Bureau League. Our home games are held at the city gym (52 US Oval) and we also travel to towns in our area. Practices are expected to begin the first week of December, with games being held on Saturday mornings, starting Jan. 5 and ending on February 23, 2013.
The Recreation Department is in need of volunteer coaches to make this program successful. If you would be interested in coaching a team, please indicate it on your child's registration form. Description: Participants will be placed in groups according to age. All participants must be wearing shin guards and have a filled water bottle. Counselors will consist of soccer coaches, teachers, and former Beekmantown School stars. Each day will include a warm-up and demonstration of the “skill of the day.” Participants will be taught the skills and tactics of the game of soccer, stressing the importance of sportsmanship. Skills covered include dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting, heading, and team play/positioning. Each day will end with the participants playing soccer games. Fee includes a soccer ball for each participant.
Resident Fee: $10.00
Non-Resident Fee: $40.00

The camp will feature 7 on 7 passing games and culminate in a "Skills Challenge" along with some carefully instructed tackling technique stations (using bags). Participants will be grouped by age levels and/or skill level. This is a non-collision camp. There will not be helmets; equipment necessary for participation should include sneakers or rubber cleats, form-fitted mouth guard, and a filled water bottle.
