Next Skating Session begins

The Skating Club of the Adirondacks will begin a new session Nov. 21-22 at the Plattsburgh State Field House.

Basic Skills lessons will be offered for Snowplow through Basic 8 levels, with a choice of a Saturday or Sunday session. The Saturday lesson schedule for this weekend only is as follows: Basic 4-8 from 8-9 a.m. and Snowplow thru Basic 3, 8:15-9 a.m. The rest of the scheduled Saturday lessons will begin at 9:30 and 9:45 a.m. for each group.

The Sunday sessions for this weekend only will begin with Snowplow thru Basic 3 from 4-4:45 p.m. and Basic 4 to 8, 4:30-5:30 p.m. The remainder of the session will be from 3:45-4:30 p.m. and 4:15-5:15 p.m., respectively

The club will also be offering the Freestyle and Adult Group lessons on Sundays only from 5:15-6:30 p.m. (this weekend) with the rest of the scheduled lessons from 5-6:15 p.m. For more information, or to receive a registration form, contact Sarah Cosgro, at 562-1514.

City Youth Basketball registration underway

The City of Plattsburgh Recreation Department is accepting registration from city boys and girls for youth basketball. The program includes the following divisions: boys grades 3-4, girls grades 3-4, boys grades 5-6 and girls grades 5-6.

You can register online at www.plattsburghrecreation.com with the deadline Dec. 4. Games will be played Saturdays, starting Jan. 9 and continuing until Feb. 27.

Plattsburgh Town Youth Basketball

The Town of Plattsburgh is conducting registration for its winter youth basketball program for girls and boys in grades 3-6.

Practices will begin during the week of Dec. 1 and will be either after school or in the evenings, depending on gym availability. Games will be on Saturdays, beginning Jan. 9 for eight weeks.

Registration forms were sent home throughout the Saranac and Beekmantown Central School Districts and need to be turned in either to the school or to the Town Recreation Department by Friday, Nov. 13. Registrations can also be downloaded from the Town website www.townofplattsburgh.com. Late registrations will be placed on a waiting list with no guarantee of getting on a team.

The Dannemora Youth Commission is holding basketball registration for grades K-6 until Nov. 13 at the Village office, 121 Emmons Street.

Peru Youth Basketball

The Peru youth basketball program has sent registration information to all boys in grades 3-6 through school distribution.

If registration forms are needed, email or call Matt Berry at berrymatt@rocketmail.com or call 569-7423 to have a registration form emailed to you or sent to you.

The program will start with a clinic given by the Peru Varsity and JV coaching staff on Nov. 21, registrations need to be in prior to that date. The game portion of the program will end in January and the cost of the program is $30 for the clinic, practices and games, including a game jersey.
